Danny is a native of county Wicklow, where his family have been involved with the land and the community for generations. In 2021, he, his siblings and other local conservationists founded the new environmental charity, ReWild Wicklow. Since then it has grown exponentially to over 2,000 volunteers. These volunteers have helped on 30 different nature restoration projects across the county including tree planting, peatland rewetting, wildflower meadows, pond digging and setting up camera traps. The work of ReWild Wicklow has been recognised in the RTÉ ‘Climate Heroes’ series, the Irish Times ’50 People to Watch in 2024’ and the all-island ‘Pride of Place’ awards. Danny is also an elected member of Wicklow County Council and sits on the Strategic Policy Committee for Climate Action and Biodiversity.
