Ricky Whelan

Ricky Whelan is the Biodiversity Officer at Offaly County Council, with a 20-year career in nature conservation. He has held roles with BirdWatch Ireland, the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) in the UK and served as Consulting Ornithologist at Dublin Airport. Ricky is also a dedicated community conservationist, having chaired the Abbeyleix Bog Project and the Irish Wildlife Trust Laois Offaly Branch. He co-hosts the In Your Nature podcast, sharing insights into Irish wildlife and biodiversity.
