Byrne’s creative practice explores our connection to time and place. The influence of the past, concerns of the present and a vision of how we coexist with the natural world now and into the future are reflected in her work. Her thoughts are visualised through the

media of artist’s books and original print and over the years has evolved to include community engagement through performance and participatory art experience.

The consideration of creating a sustainable practice and a sustainable world is at the root of Byrne’s work. This is evidenced in her projects with children, her bookbinding workshops and her studio practice.
