Creating in Nature: Gathering, Weaving & Exploring

Creating in Nature: Gathering, Weaving & Exploring

Gathering, Weaving & Exploring with artists Caroline Dear & Liz McMahon,
Ages 10+

A very special opportunity for children to make and create in nature, with two very fine artists, Caroline Dear from the Isle of Skye and local artist Liz McMahon. After some games to settle in, children will explore the area, gather specific local plants and using the skills of traditional rope making, spinning, natural dying and simple plaiting and weaving techniques, they will each be encouraged to make their own wrist amulet.

Children's forest arts and crafts

The Shaking Bog - in partnership with our friends at Fighting Words - presents a special programme of workshops for children of all ages that interweaves art and nature through creative expression and imagination. Special guest artists and nature experts will offer a broad palette of participatory opportunities.

Whether you like composing music, crafts, writing or graphic fiction, critters, carpentry, drumming and storytelling - there will be something for you! If you fancy making a morning out of it, you can join more than one workshop before you join in with the final celebration.

(NB. Please note that booking is essential for all events. Please come in suitable footwear and be prepared for all weathers.)
