After an extremely successful inaugural festival in 2019, The Shaking Bog will be back and is scheduled for September 2021.
The Shaking Bog Festival is a joyous three day event that aims to reawaken and shift perspectives of the natural world through art.
The 2021 programme will offer a diverse range of events, such as; readings from world renowned writers, dramatic presentations at dusk, poetry events, biodiversity trails for all the family, fireside storytelling, panel discussions, photography workshops, musical interludes and more. In a series of ancillary events, the festival will also engage the interest and support of the local community, as well as nature experts, through talks from local historians, writers and storytellers, nature trails with biodiversity experts and projects with local schools and community groups.
During Covid-19 lockdown, many of us turned to nature for support and the festival now seems more relevant than ever - sitting on the seam between art and nature, where the conversation is vital, urgent and potentially life changing. With many events outdoors and a flexible working model, the festival is poised to adapt to any challenges or restrictions that are currently in place and that may arise, according to government guidelines.
The Shaking Bog Festival is looking for volunteers to help out at this year's festival, which is on Fri 10th, Sat 11th and Sun 12th September in Glencree (Co Wicklow) and with a really exciting programme. We would also love some help in the days leading up to the festival too.
